T-Street
Sand-and-reef beachbreak south of the San Clemente Pier. Lefts and rights off shifting sandbars over a reef bottom. Named for the Trafalgar Street trail that walks down to the beach.
Spot intel
Parking
Free street parking on Trafalgar Lane and the residential streets between the 5 and the bluff. Walk-down via the posted Trafalgar trail to the sand, about a quarter mile, paved.
Crowd
Moderate to thick. Local presence runs heavy across the morning. Pier and rail-line geography keep the lineup compact.
Beginner-friendly?
Depends.
On the smaller, softer days the sand sections open up for confident intermediates. On any size the reef sections run with a locally rotated lineup and the priority hierarchy is tight.
Lineup etiquette
Beachbreak priority is per-wave, not by lineup position. On the reef sections the deepest rider has priority. A wave already taken from the peak isn't open to paddle into.
When it's on
South through southwest and west through west-northwest groundswell with light offshore wind from the northeast through east. Mid-tide window.
When beginners can paddle out
Knee-high to chest-high on a mid-tide window with light wind, on the softer sand sections away from the reef.
